Welcome to Sandal Magna Junior & Infant School Website

Well, here we are at the beginning of a new school year and already we have to say goodbye to the old year six teacher, Miss Nash.

Fear not though, Miss Nash hasn't exactly left, she just changed her name. (Nothing dodgy, honest gov ).

In all seriousness I'm sure that all the staff and students (past and present) will want to pass on their congratulations to Mr and Mrs Sennett on the celebration of their wedding during the summer holidays.

So, it's farewell to class 6N and bring on class 6S.

The new year six pupils are beginning to understand that even serious learning can sometimes be fun. Here are a few photos of some of them, along with some year five students, acting out the scene from Macbeth where Banquo's ghost appears. They perfomed this as a mime and put their all into it.

Well done 6S and friends!

On Friday October 17th our class took part in a big cleanup the environment campaign. Here we all are before we went to clear the school field of rubbish. Click on the photo to see Samara's report about the afternoon.

On the other hand this is what the Wakefield Express had to say.

Friday May 15th. SATS ARE FINISHED!!!!!

Time for us to celebrate, so we had a bit of a party. Fist we played Pass The Parcel and then had a game of Musical Chairs before enjoying a bite to eat ( crisps, buns, chocolate etc; ).

Thank heavens this week is over at last and now we can enjoy the weekend (assuming it stops raining of course).

On June 25th year six pupils were invited to the opening of a new park nearby. last year we held a contest to design a play area and this was the result of our school's ideas.

We didn't waste the walk down either as we took some litter pickers and bin liners with us and held a mini clean-up as we went.

When we arrived at the park there were a few speaches (including one from Mrs Simpson), Connor then cut the tape to open the play area and our children became the first official users of the facilities. This was celebrated with cake and a drink (the offer of which Mrs Sennett and Mrs Dumphy thought it would be rude to refuse, even though it was just before lunch).
